The surface of a product needs to be well prepared before applying a wet coating or a powder coating.

To make sure the coating lasts a pre-treatment of the surface is practically always necessary. A proper pre-treatment determines the durability of the chosen coating.

Depending on the type of material a choice is made between alkaline degreasing, pickling, an iron-phosphate treatment, a rinse, stand rinse, a chromate treatment or passivation.

These treatments take place in a bath. These baths are 3000mm long, 800mm wide and 1250mm deep. After the treatment the products are dried in a hot-air oven. Another way of treating products is through radiation. This is mainly done with RVS parts.
